  • 1/3 cup sour cream (or plain yogurt)
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced/grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine the Base: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together 1/3 cup buttermilk, 1/3 cup sour cream (or plain yogurt), and 1/3 cup mayonnaise until smooth. This creates a creamy, tangy foundation for the dressing.

  2. Add the Herbs and Seasonings: Stir in 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill, 1 minced or grated garlic clove, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Mix thoroughly to distribute the herbs evenly.

  3. Taste and Adjust: Sample the dressing and adjust seasoning if needed. For a thinner consistency, add a splash of buttermilk; for a thicker dip, increase sour cream or mayonnaise.

  4. Chill for Flavor: Transfer the dressing to an airtight container or jar and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. This step enhances the herbaceous and tangy notes.

  5. Serve and Store: Serve chilled as a dressing, dip, or marinade. Store in the refrigerator and use within 3-5 days for optimal freshness.

 

Tip: For a smoother texture, use a blender or food processor to combine the ingredients, especially if you prefer a finer herb consistency. Shake or stir before serving to ensure even distribution.
